Owner of a Comprima CV 150 XC and a Swadro 800
No Downtime in Six Years
The Rochedale Farm in Québec operates a 140 head dairy farm with 200 acres of productive cropland. They just completed their new facility in 2013 after the original barn was completely destroyed by a fire in 2011. The Rochedale Farm is located in the most productive dairy area in the province in Québec. They rely on their Comprima CV150 XC to help them operator their family dairy operation.
Angèle, Éric, and Jean-Marie Lacroche have been operating a Krone Combi Pack 1500 MC for five years and have enjoyed the benefits from it. The main reason that led them to the purchase of their first baler was the capability to combine two operations into one with a 100 horsepower tractor, eliminating the use of a second tractor and operator. The improved nutritional quality of the silage it produces was another factor that lead the Laroche family to their first purchase of a Krone baler. They traded their Combi Pack 1500 MC in 2013 for a Comprima CV 150 XC after having great success for five years with their Combi Pack 1500 MC. An additional benefit to buying the Comprima CV 150 XC, was the 26 knife rotor system to improve feed.
When the Laroche family was asked about their most successful or efficient days of running their Comprima CV 150 XC they said, “each day of baling is a success considering the baler is still running with a 100 horespower tractor and can still maintain the high hay quality they produce.” They do not rush the baling process, as they want as much material as they can fit into each bale for improved conservation during storage.
Eric stated, “we never experienced any downtime with any of our Krone machines we own presently or in the past. ” Every winter they bring in their baler to Les Équipements Adrien Phaneuf dealership in Victoriaville to do preventive maintenance. The Laroche’s said, that they have an “Excellent” relationship with the parts and service department at Les Équipements Adrien Phaneuf. Their favorite feature on their Comprima CV 150 XC is the integrated baler/wrapper concept. The best feature compared to their Combi Pack 1500 MC is the higher bale density they get with the NovoGrip conveyor belt while running faster. The NovoGrip elevator has rubber treaded fabric belts and slats that delivers high bale density while providing maximum longevity. The Laroche’s enjoy the intuitive and easy to use monitor on the Comprima CV 150 XC.
When it comes to a quality machine Krone balers fit the needs of Rochedale’s Farm. They have had no downtime in 6 years! They can use their Comprima CV 150 XC to increase production and efficiency with no downtime. “Better quality of hay and silage have led to an increase in milk production per cow”, stated Eric. With the Comprima CV 150 XC, they now can increase their milk production and save time baling hay. Jean- Marie was never skeptical about Krone products before he purchased his first piece of equipment. He had heard good remarks about the Combi Pack from his neighbor that had a good experience with it on his operation. Now, the Laroche family enjoys their Comprima CV 150 XC and SW 800 rake to help them run a successful dairy operation in Québec.
