    Job Title: Wholegoods Shipping Manager

    Reports To:  Operations Manager

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Summary: Responsible for shipping Krone NA machines from various US warehouses to dealers and Krone NA stores in the United States and Canada. Determine if full truckloads or less than full truckloads shipments are required. Have full knowledge of dealing with various trucking lines for the most expedient and least expensive means of delivering the shipments to our dealers.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    1.     Ships machinery by full truckloads whenever possible to our dealers and stores.*

    2.     Determines the best way of delivering shipments to the locations of dealers and stores.*

    3.     Completes all necessary documents for the shipping and billing departments and the truck lines.*

    4.     Work with transborder customs broker for shipment to/from Canada

    5.     Ability to multitask with shipping arrangements. *

    6.     Be proactive in returning all calls and/or emails to contacts within a reasonable time frame. *

    7.     Accurately estimates the delivery time of shipments based on previous experience with trucking lines or brokers. *

    8.     Ability to calculate and maximize space utilization for the trucking method selected

    9.     Ability to quickly determine if shipments are to be sent by truckloads or LTL. *

    10.  Works cohesively and communicates with on and off-site warehousing personnel to efficiently process shipments on a timely basis. *

    11.  Reconciles and approves shipping invoices for payment. *

    12.  Determines the best way to resolve any shipping issues that may arise and communicate with the appropriate parties*

    13.  Required to have knowledge of and resource to research D.O.T. regulations.

    14.  Assists with loading and unloading trucks/containers when necessary.

    15.  Manage staff responsible for loading and unloading of whole goods shipments.

    16.  Track and trace inbound shipments to warehouses and dealers

    Non-Essential Responsibilities:

    Ability to drive and/or be comfortable moving heavy equipment, such as self-propelled, pull-type units and crated machinery.

    Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Math Ability:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP Inventory and Order Processing Software.  Advanced excel skills are desirable.

    Education/Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year College or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates and Licenses:  Valid driver’s license with insurable driving history.  Valid US Passport. Forklift certification desired but willing to train.

    Equipment:

    ·    Knowledgeable of all machines sold by the company.

    ·   Occasionally use forklifts, drive tractors and self-propelled machinery.

    ·    Experience in the transportation industry.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

    ·        Time management, organizational skills and multitasking ability.

    ·        Oral and written communication skills.

    ·       Be able to work in both an office and/or warehouse environment.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk /hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes and airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
